In the 21st century we struggle to maintain itimacy with our peers by basic face to face communication because we have evolved into a shorthand speech to text exchange society, in which our emotions are expressed by vivid punctuation and symbol formed smiles :)...Honestly, I am a product of the "Facebook" generation and in my current living situation, I benefit from it!
Blogging is new for me, although in comparison, it's really just an extended Facebook status. Blogging opens a new opportunity to connect farther from just my inner circle and into the depths of the world to which I am now exposed. We are quite fortunate to easily reach so many people across the globe and together we could change the world with these endless possibilities.
My grammar and punctuation may not always be perfect, but the ideas, opinions, and adventures we share will make perfect sense....So this is my introduction to you: My name's Lacey, I was born and raised in and around Kansas City, Missouri all my life, and in October of 2009 I moved to Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa, Japan. It was quite a shock at first but has turned into an amazing gift full of adventures and an incredible lesson on culture vs. perceptions.
To my family and friends: I hope this will be a better way to share so much more with you in the continued years that I live here.
To everyone else reading on: I hope to share ideas/opinions(politics, travel, dreams) and experiences in our collective lives.
Because I am crazy proud to be an American! But privililedged to be apart of Japan. And this connection will forever open up the worlds function on a greater scale than small town living ever had to offer this average girl lol :)
I am middle America living a world away.
I cannot wait to read more. I'm sure this will be my daily stop on the internet. It's one more way for me to connect with you, being so far away, than just talking on the phone. So far, so good :). I love you. And I cannot wait to read more!!
